HIV Vaccine Awareness Day - May 18
May 18 is National HIV Vaccine Awareness Day (HVAD), a day to celebrate the thousands of volunteers, community members, health professionals, and scientists who are working to find a safe and effective vaccine against HIV. Find an HVAD event in your community and learn more about how you can support the cause of ending AIDS.
Join a Community Advisory Board
In every community where federally-funded HIV vaccine research is being conducted, a diverse group of volunteers serve on Community Advisory Boards that review the work of the clinical trial site, provide recommendations to researchers, and keep their communities informed. Get Tested
Join the effort to end HIV. Know your status! HIV counseling and testing enables people with HIV to take steps to protect their own health and that of their partners, and helps people who test negative get the information they need to stay uninfected. If You’re HIV Positive
There are still many things you can do to support HIV vaccine research and help end AIDS. Clinical trials are being conducted to find a therapeutic HIV vaccine that can prevent illness and delay the onset of AIDS in HIV positive people.
